In our seminar, we examine participants’ past experiences, present some key evidence, discuss it and then we share the most cost effective screening strategy, using the Single Alcohol Screening Question (for all) and the AUDIT questionnaire (for the those initially screening positive).
We then explore the use of a structured brief intervention, based on the well-validated “Drinkwise” sheet (WHO research). We practise using all of the tools (screening and intervention) in rehearsal exercises.
By the end of the session, participants will have the tools for the task, and will have had a chance to rehearse key skills. Our referenced workbook includes the Single Alcohol Screening Questionnaire, the AUDIT Questionnaire, and the “Drinkwise” sheet for very brief intervention.
We mix the learning methods and keep the pace brisk, to maximise the learning and retain your engagement.
