There is a mass of leadership theory but what is relevant in this context?
We review evidence about leadership. We share models and experience from working with many clinicians and non clinicians across the NHS. We make this very practical to your working lives.
We give you plenty of opportunity to explore what this means for you and how you can develop your own leadership skills.

- Enhanced skills to maximise productivity such as improved time management and delegation
- The knowledge and skills to run effective meetings
- Greater skills to manage and lead change
- Improved understanding of teams and enhanced skills in managing other people
The course is ideal for all who work in GP surgeries or organisations and either have (or aspire to) leadership roles including:
GPs & GP Registrars, Nurse Practitioners, Other extended role/clinical practitioners, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers, Senior non-clinical staff
Content and Timetable
Both days are run as follows:

09:15-10:45 Session One
10:45-11:00 Tea/coffee
11:00-12:30 Session Two
12:30-13:30 Lunch
13:30-15:00 Session Three
15:00-15:15 Tea/coffee
15:15-16:30 Session Four
The first day consists of exercises and reflections which cover the key theory outlined in the aims above.
The content of the second day is influenced by the group and the precise needs that emerge on Day 1. The trainer will tailor the programme accordingly.
The courses are led by experienced GP’s with extensive clinical leadership and management experience.
